Dr. Chen has been practicing as a periodontist in California for more than 20 years. He received his dental degrees (National Taiwan University and Loma Linda University), certificate in Advanced Periodontology (University of Pittsburgh), and PhD in Oral Biology (State University of New York in Buffalo) between 1980-1992. Immediately after attaining the degrees, Dr. Chen was invited to teach at the USC School of Dentistry, where he remains as a full-time faculty member. Dr. Chen is active in clinical and didactic teachings in periodontology as well as in basic science research in microbial pathogenesis. He has more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and is a past member of the editorial board of the Journal of Dental Research and a reviewer of leading journals in microbiology, dentistry and infectious diseases. A firm believer in the importance of periodontal health, Dr. Chen strives to provide the best possible periodontal care with passion for his patients.
